2.前通…，后倚……，东近…，西临…:这一句的翻译比较难，可以用(it) faces...in the front, with... at its back, ... at its east and ... at its west的结构简化处理。
3.无与伦比的古代建筑杰作:可译为unprecedentedmasterpiece of ancient construction,其中“无与伦比的”也可以用unmatched “无可匹敌的，无法比拟的”表示。
4.保存最完整的:“保存最完整的”即“保存最 好的”，要用well-preserved 的最 高级the best-preserved。
